Early Spring

I'm already longing for summer, or even spring, for that matter! When we woke up and saw the news that Punxsutawney Phil didn't see his shadow and has predicted an early spring, I was pretty excited. So excited, that I made Groundhog pancakes for breakfast! Oh the joys of having kids and seeing them so excited over stuff like this :). Love it!

Hexagon Stocking

My baby needed a Christmas stocking, and I, of course, waited to the last minute to make it for her. I wanted to have it match Leah's...so I knew I was in for it when I started to count all of the hexagons that I had to *hand* stitch. Honestly, I thoroughly enjoyed making this. It did take lots of time, but it end product was so worth it. I so enjoy just sitting and working on stuff like this...alone with my thoughts. And it was especially nice to sit and relax during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Oh, the joy of Christmas!

Christmas Advent Calendar

I have been wanting to make an Christmas advent calendar for the kiddos for the past few years. Well, I finally did it! I wanted to do something that didn't have candy, because, if I'm being honest, I'd eat it all! It's a known fact around here that I will eat any candy that is in the house. Instead, I'm going to fill it with activities for us to do each day. I'm hoping that the kiddos like it...we shall see.

Halloween Costumes

Ah...the much anticipated day of Trick-or-Treating finally came! All I can say is that we have all been experiencing major sugar rush around here. It's safe to say that my love for candy has been passed on to the kiddos...but what kid doesn't love candy!
I was a busy one the days leading up to Halloween. My Noah has had his heart set on being a Magician for months.  His costume consisted of...

- a cape, which I made, with cards glued to the inside
- a thrifted shirt and pants
- a sash from leftover red fabric
- thrifted hat with red fabric wrapped around it.

He sure loved it!
Leah's costume was pretty easy to put together.  I found a darling picture of an Indian costume on Pinterest a while back, so I used that as inspiration in making her costume.  She wanted to be an Indian, but wanted a skirt to go with it, so I made this tulle skirt out of three different browns.  It turned out darling, and she just adored it!
Then I made a cute little head piece and added some leather strips around her arms.  And, voila, the cutest little Indian you ever did see.
My two littles looked adorable in their hand-me-down costumes too.  It seems like just yesterday that the big littles were wearing them...make time stop!

First Snow

The children were so excited to wake up and see the first snow of the season. I so remember this moment when I was a kid...it's so magical to peek outside and see the pretty white sheet of snow covering the ground. I have a feeling that it's going to be a cold winter this year!

Me...

Welcome! This blog is an outlet for me to focus on some of the things that I love to do, which include being a mommy, crafting, cooking, playing, learning...you name it! But first, here's just a snippet about me...

...First and foremost...I am a mom to four of the most amazing kids. They are my world. As is their most wonderful daddy!

...I love to keep myself busy, which isn't hard to do with four little ones running around. I'm trying to focus on finding some more "me" time, so when I do get a spare moment, I find myself doing some sort of crafting...sewing {anything from clothes to pillows}, crafting, scrapbooking, painting furniture...

...I also LOVE to take pictures and I take way too many! Thank goodness that we live in a digital world. I thrive on being in the *moment* with my kids, but I also love capturing those precious moments. One of my favorite past times is looking at pictures from the years past. It makes my heart swell with happiness to see all that my family has accomplished over the years.

...I like organization and order.  This is, obviously, pretty hard to manage in a house full of little people, and I'm beginning to embrace the craziness that is our house.  Messes and all.  But that doesn't mean that I don't strive to make this or that a little more organized for the sanity of the fam.

...I love all things pretty! I'm a sucker for browsing stores, catalogs, blogs and seeing all the lovely eye candy out there.

...I have recently found a love for decorating. I'm very much the type of person that likes to find something that I like and make it my own. Thank goodness I love to craft!

...I am a lover of smiles and a good case of the giggles. No, our house isn't full of these all of the time {tantrums and crying are definitely a regular occurrence around here}, but I do try my hardest to keep the smiles on our faces as much as possible. Seeing pure happiness on my kids faces is one of the things that I treasure most :).
